What is the Foundation?
The Dolvin Elementary School Foundation (DESF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that was established to raise funds to purchase educational programs and technologies that provide instructional value to our students, and provide capital improvements to the Dolvin campus that would not otherwise be available through traditional funding from the Fulton County School System.
Why do we have a Foundation and a PTA?
The Foundation was established in 1999 to work hand-in-hand with the PTA, school and staff for the benefit of the Dolvin students. The PTA provides volunteers and programs, but national PTA guidelines limit how the PTA can spend funds. A strong Foundation gives Dolvin the ability to secure funding to supplement the educational opportunities that are not currently being funded by the state or county budgets.
